Danetree Primary School opens "The Forest building"
After a major construction project, the new teaching block is now the centre of attention for staff, friends and colleagues from the GLF multi-academy trust. On Friday, November 3, there was a special ceremony led by Jon Chaloner, CEO of GLF Schools.
The school is now expanding to be a four form entry primary school and has a nursery and early years facility as part of the new development. Building work on the site was completed in time for the beginning of this term and now staff and children have had the chance to settle-in to their new home, the time was right to mark the occasion.
Danetree was a Junior School until September 2016 when it admitted its first Reception children who have now moved into the new building.
The local education authority, along with GLF Schools, moved to expand provision in Epsom as the area faces rising demand for primary school places. Danetree has added more than 200 spaces to its roll as a result of the changes.
“We are absolutely delighted with the new building. It offers a great environment for our children to learn and has already become an integral part of life here at Danetree,” said Rob Hopkins, Acting Deputy Headteacher.
