Fantastic Spring Concert

Fantastic Performances at Glyn’s Spring Concert

On Wednesday 14 March, Glyn held its annual Spring Concert, the culmination of the hard work that the students have been putting in over the last term in the various ensembles that are run in the Music Department.

The concert featured a number of performances from our various Sixth Form soloists, including Jamie Gibson, Sam Bittern, Sam Woodall, George Saunders, Toby Price and Jamie Tillen. The ensembles that performed were the Brass Band, Concert Band, Junior Band, Sax Quintet, Pop Choir, Ukulele Band and Year 7 Band. The Year 7 Band were giving their second ever performance (the first being at Christmas) and the improvement in sound was dramatic and highlighted just how far that they have come, especially considering they only began playing their instruments in October! A fantastic addition to this year’s event was the presence of Glyn’s Drama Club who gave an excellent performance depicting the first rehearsal of a Shakespeare production.

A special thanks must be given to Miss Isaacs, Mr Beaney and Miss Southall for their hard work with our various extra-curricular clubs in Creative Art.

Monday 26 March - A Level Recitalists’ Concert

On Monday 26 March, we will have our A Level Recitalists’ Concert. This concert will be a formal assessment of the performance part of the students’ A Level Music course. However, it is open to anyone who wishes to support the students.

The performers at this recital will be Kaleb Fox, David Longcake and Jamie Tillen, who will be performing a modern, yet incredibly varied, programme.

The concert will begin at 7.00pm in The Proctor Hall and I anticipate that it will be finished by 8.00pm.

Glyn families are warmly invited to join us at this event, for which there is no charge. I hope to see you there!
