Year 7 Football Match

The Year 7 Football team travelled to Reigate School for a league fixture where both teams have had recent good runs of form.

The Beacon boys started well, passing the ball around nicely and using the width of the pitch to link the play forward.

Although The Beacon enjoyed large spells of possession, they were frustrated by a solid Reigate defence and had to be patient as the first half drew to a close.

The second half saw more long spells of Beacon possession, with Alfie Maidment and Freddie Smith creating gaps in the Reigate back line. A corner from Luis Ayres, glanced on by Captain Sonny Davies fell perfectly in Ollie Tully's path, who smashed the ball home to break the deadlock.

George Thompson who had a great game thought he had doubled the visitors lead, for it only to be ruled off by offside and the game finished 1-0 to The Beacon. Man of the Match was James Measures, who had a solid game at right back, calm under pressure and distributed the ball well.

Thank you to all parents who came to support on a rainy afternoon.
