Celebrating World Book Day ... at last!
Lime Tree Primary finally got to celebrate World Book Day on Wednesday the 21st March, as well as World Poetry Day. All of the children (and staff) made a great effort with their costumes this year, and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying the day. Each class had a best dressed child, who each received a book prize for their efforts. Each Key stage took part in a carousel of reading activities in the afternoon – some of the work for this can be found on the display in the library. The day was finished off with a whole school poetry recital of ‘Please, Mrs Butler’ by Allan Ahlberg.
We also crowned our winners of the extreme reading competition, which can also be found on display in the library. Well done to everyone who took part. We look forward to celebrating a love of reading again next year!
