Spud and Yam visit reception for the day
All three reception classes thoroughly enjoyed learning new songs from around the world on Friday. Kate Corkery and Winston Nzinga are a unique Irish/Jamaican duo of storytellers/musicians known as Spud and Yam. They specialise in developing material which is both educational and entertaining.
Each class learnt a new song and performed them to their parents using 'signing', actions and a range of instruments from around the world.
In the afternoon, there was no escape for the parents- we thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon of singing and performing with the children and their families- we hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did and have been singing the songs at home as well.
Singing is a great way to promote language development in our young children - Thank You Spud and Yam for joining us!
