Commendation at the Volunteer Police Cadet Awards

Award for Kye Slawson-Powell at the Volunteer Police Cadet Awards Ceremony

Kye Slawson-Powell 9A is a Volunteer Police Cadet and he was shortlisted for the New Recruit of the Year Award, along with four other new recruits to the Met Volunteer Police Cadets.

On Saturday 14 April Kye travelled to Kensington Great Hall, London, where the awards ceremony took place, hosted by Commissioner Cressida Dick CBE QPM, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, and Sir Ken Olisa, The Lord-Lieutenant of London. Kye was honoured to be awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the New Recruit of the Year category.

There was further delight for Kye the following day when he visited Hendon Police College, the principal training centre for the Metropolitan Police Service. Whilst at Hendon, Kye become an ambassador for The Breck Foundation, a self-funding charity raising awareness of internet safety.

Congratulations to Kye on both his prestigious award and volunteering as an ambassador with The Breck Foundation.
