Rugby Quarter Final Success!

The long journey to Wycliffe College in the Cotswolds commenced at 9.00am, with the team full of anticipation. On arrival, it was quite clear that this was going to be a tough game, due to the large crowd and awkward pitch.

From the off, Glyn imposed themselves on the game and scored two quick tries. By half time the score was 22-0 to Glyn but, knowing that the slope and wind had been to our advantage in the first half, the sound half would be tougher; well, so we thought.

From the whistle, Glyn came out of the starting blocks firing, scoring the first try of the second half and making it 27-0. Wycliffe pulled a converted try back, but to no avail, and Glyn added a sixth try to make the final score 32-7.

Special mention goes to Harry 11B who completed his second hat-trick in the competition.

Glyn face Mount Kelly School from Devon, at Priest Hill, in the semi-finals. The date for this is yet to be confirmed, but the week commencing 4 March 2019 is the current scheduled date.

Your support for the Glyn U18 Rugby team at the semi-final would be much appreciated, so please keep an eye out for the confirmed date in the Glyn School Newsletters during the Spring term.
