Following an Ofsted inspection held in January, inspectors have found that Rosebery continues to be an “outstanding” school.

The report cites the “exemplary education” that the school provides, and how leaders at all levels are “relentless in their pursuit of excellence and joy for every child in the school”.

Inspectors describe students as “polite and respectful…kind and considerate”, and note that they “demonstrate a strong work ethic” and they “support their teachers and each other”. Sixth Formers are highlighted as “excellent role models”. They recognise that students are “proud members of the school community…they are proud of their achievements, are aspirational for the future…. are happy and safe… and uphold the values and ethos of the Rosebery Way”.

The hard work of teaching and associate staff is equally highlighted for praise. The inspectors note that students have access to “high quality pastoral support” and the “exceptional support” of the Hive for students’ mental health.  They emphasise that “teachers’ subject knowledge is exceptionally strong, and pupils appreciate their excitement and enthusiasm” and that this is underpinned by a “curriculum (which) is expertly planned, meticulously sequenced and precisely implemented” and which reflects the “ambitious” aspirations that the school has for all students.

Head of School David Lach and Executive Headteacher Ros Allen commented:

It is a privilege to work at Rosebery each day because of the conduct, positivity, creativity and hard work of every member of our community. We are delighted that the unique qualities and strengths of our school have been recognised once again in such an exceptional report. To have maintained our Outstanding grading under the new, more challenging Ofsted framework is particularly pleasing, and we extend our congratulations to all our students and staff who have played such a critical part in the realisation of this achievement.
