Cuddington Croft Primary School is proud to have achieved the Platinum School Games Mark award for their commitment and engagement in sports for this academic year.

This year there has been an increase in opportunities for a variety of ages of children to take part in sporting events. The impact of the increased opportunities has meant that children in the lower age of the school have had the chance to represent the school in sporting events.

Cuddington Croft has built a relationship with the wider community and local tennis club, where children across a range of year groups have used the club facilities for PE lessons. All children have participated with enthusiasm and have developed a new passion for the sport of tennis. Many of the children and parents have expressed their interest in joining the tennis club and continuing weekly coaching sessions.

This year Cuddington Croft has developed and trained young leaders known as the 'Sports Crew' to engage other children in sports. The impact of this on the young leaders has been the development of their leadership and responsibility through sports. They are planning and leading PE sessions daily to other children during lunch times. In addition to this, they are now starting to deliver warm up sessions during PE lessons.

Cuddington Croft has targeted girls as an area for focus in PE this year and planned engaging events to get more involved. They have had many different whole school events and opportunities such as 'The Biggest Girls Football Session' to celebrate International Woman's Day where all the girls across the school took part. They have also hosted girls-only football matches and given opportunities to children who have never represented the school a chance to take part. As a result they have seen a higher uptake of girls taking part in the football club and wanting to play more.

Congratulations Cuddington Croft for a year of sporting success!
