Glf congratulations exams facebook 1080x1080pxStudents across the GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust have been celebrating a bumper crop of top GCSE results.

Aureus School celebrated the school’s best-ever GCSE results, with students excelling across all subjects, including English, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Performing Arts, Dance and Art.

An impressive 61 grades were awarded at the highest levels of 9 and 8, with 34 per cent of all grades between 9 and 7, and 51 per cent between 9 and 4, with particular progress made in Maths and Science.

"This year’s results are a testament to the hard work and dedication the students have put in every day,” said Headteacher Kirsty Rogers.

"The school has been through significant change this academic year and I couldn’t be prouder of how this cohort has risen to the challenge. The progress they have made this year is extraordinary.”

There were also celebrations at The Beacon, when this year’s GCSE results were the best in the school's history.

“We are very proud of all our Year 11 students who received their GCSE results this summer,” said James Grant Duff, Head of School. “There were so many individual and collective achievements to celebrate, and we are so pleased that the students have been able to achieve such brilliant results - the highest set of grades in the school’s history.

“In addition our staff and parents have gone above and beyond over the last five years, and we are all so delighted with the outcome of their efforts. A huge well done to everyone.”

At de Stafford, particularly strong progress was seen in the proportion of students achieving a strong pass (5+) in both English and Maths. The Class of 2024 achieved the school’s highest score on this metric since the introduction of 1-9 grading in 2017.

“These outcomes do not happen by accident and are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students, as well as the excellent support and guidance provided by staff and parents," said Head of School Jeff Place. "The fact that most de Stafford students leave us with such positive outcomes reflects the strong academic progress they have made in their time here.

"However, this year group contributed so much to the school community, and we are just as proud of the way in which they have developed into highly aspirational and confident young adults, comfortable of their place in society and the positive contribution they can make to it.”

At Glyn School, 85 per cent of the Year 11 cohort received grades 9 to 4 in English and Maths, while 65 per cent attained grades 9 to 5.

“We are very proud of our students,” said Head of School Jo Garrod. “These results reflect the resilience, determination, and effort our students have shown throughout their GCSE journey. These achievements are not just about grades, but also about the characteristics each of them has developed.”

At Meridian High School, top results meant that 66% of students were able to access their first-choice courses at their chosen sixth forms and colleges.

Headteacher Amy Anderson said: “Having faced so much disruption so early in their secondary educational experience, we are proud of our students for continually demonstrating our core values of resilience, ambition and respect."

She added: “We would also like to thank our parents and carers and the community for their support, as we continue to build on our successes through our team ethos and student-centred approach.

“We wish all of our students good luck on their future endeavours and building the future that they deserve.”
