We are delighted that Danetree has maintained its status as an outstanding school after a recent Ofsted inspection. Danetree was previously rated as ‘outstanding’ at its last inspection in 2019, and Ofsted has now said that these standards have been maintained into 2025, praising the school’s “relentless ambition” for pupils, who “achieve exceptionally”.

Inspectors described the school as a “caring and supportive place” for pupils, with a “respectful and positive culture” nurtured by staff. They also noted that disadvantaged pupils, and those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), are supported particularly well at Danetree.

Teachers at the school were praised for their expertise, with the English instruction at the school singled out as ambitious. Pupils were commended for their “broad and ambitious” vocabulary, as well as for their “exceptional accuracy” in maths and numeracy. The report said that teachers are skilled at identifying what children needed to learn next, as well as how this fits in with what has already been taught.

Ofsted also said that “Teachers pick up on misconceptions or errors in pupils’ work and make sure they understand what to do instead”, saying that pupils were “very well prepared for the next stage in their education.”

The school’s enrichment programme was also singled out for praise by Ofsted, with children taking part in workshops for baking, or planting in the nursery garden. These opportunities are designed to challenge and inspire pupils, helping them to become more confident and resilient alongside their academic learning. Ofsted also highlighted the school’s extracurricular activities, from school trips to design-and-make days.

Pupils who are enthusiastic about drama are also supported to take up places with local theatre groups through the GLF Schools’ Foundation, which aims to provide opportunities to all pupils, regardless of their financial background.

Headteacher Mrs Singleton said: “We are delighted with the outcome of our recent inspection which reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire Danetree community.

“My team and I are exceptionally proud of the whole school and particularly the ‘relentlessly high ambitions’ we have for all children in our care which help them to achieve exceptionally well. This feedback is a true testament to the effort our staff and children put in each day.

“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff and governors, whose passion and commitment ensure that all children who attend Danetree continue to thrive in our high-achieving and inclusive school.”

Julian Drinkall, CEO of GLF Schools, said: “I am delighted that the Ofsted inspectors recognise Danetree’s exceptional combination of excellent academic achievement within a supportive and caring culture. I’d like to thank Mrs Singleton for her leadership, as well as the dedicated staff and supportive families at Danetree for all helping to create such an outstanding environment to thrive in.

“I’d also like to congratulate the pupils for all their hard work and achievements which have been highlighted by the Ofsted inspectors.

“All colleagues at GLF Schools are dedicated to providing the best possible educational outcomes for all students and Joanna and the staff team continue to work tirelessly to achieve this at Danetree.”
